The Overview
Oko is a community farmer’s market that brings local farmers and the people who eat their food closer together. I had the pleasure of designing its full identity, from a custom typeface and palette and the assets that carry it across platforms.
The Challenge & Approach
The challenge was to make a fresh-produce brand feel distinctive and culturally grounded. Oko takes its name from the Yoruba orisha of agriculture, so the identity needed to communicate freshness while honouring that meaning.
My approach was to build the concept into the typeface. Custom letterforms drawn from geometric leaf shapes carry the idea of growth within the lettering itself, supported by a vibrant, fresh palette designed to work across business cards, delivery vehicles and social content.
The Result
The identity reads instantly as fresh and trustworthy, while carrying a deeper story of renewal and growth.
